kinder-prep program now offered at zion preschool

The Zion Lutheran Preschool Board of Directors is pleased to introduce an exciting new program focused solely on preparing four-year-old students for the academic rigors of kindergarten. Beginning this September, Zion's new "Kinder-Prep" program will be offered to any student who will be of age to enter kindergarten in the fall of 2011. Kinder-Prep's curriculum is aligned with the same Kindergarten Early Learning Standards that are the basis for curriculum and instruction in every Pennsylvania public school. To best prepare the children for early success in kindergarten, our specific focus will be on the standards of Mathematical Thinking and Expression and Language and Literacy Development in the areas of Reading and Writing.

Zion Lutheran Preschool will be offering Kinder-Prep on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday immediately following the preschool day (from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.) at a cost of $60 per month. Children enrolled in Kinder-Prep will be invited to pack a lunch and enjoy the company of their Kinder-Prep friends as they transition from their preschool day into an additional hour of extended learning opportunities.
